1K Fun Run + 5K

Run the Runway 5K is coming back and will soon be ready for takeoff! Get ready to lace up your running shoes and join us at Shenandoah Valley Airport in Weyers Cave. The family-friendly Sunday afternoon event begins with a 1K Fun Run for children ages 3 - 12, followed by a chip-timed 5K on the taxiway and runway. This unique race opportunity is a perfect fit for runners, walkers and families at all fitness levels. The course is handicap accessible and well-suited for those pushing young children in strollers.

All proceeds benefit the Explore More Discovery Museum's aviation exhibit where children will learn about the many aspects of aviation including hands-on experience as a pilot, aircraft mechanic, air traffic controller and passenger. By supporting this event through sponsorship or registration, you will assist the museum to fulfill their mission of providing high-quality, experiential learning opportunities for all children!
