KINDERGARTEN FIELD TRIPS:
Make a Splash! In this engaging, hands-on field trip, students will explore the science of water movement by observing how it flows downhill and experimenting with ways to slow it down, speed it up, or change its direction. Then they’ll design and build simple boats to test in moving water. SOLs- Science K1 (a, b, d, e), Science K4 (a, b, c, d)
Economics of the Farmer's Market: Students will investigate their roles as consumers and discover the importance of spending their money wisely as they explore the difference between wants and needs. Using real money, they will have opportunities to make economic choices as they "shop” for produce in the market. SOLs- Math K.NS.1; ECON K 8 (a, b)
Trash to Treasure Adventure: Through an interactive story and hands-on exploration, students will follow Freddie the Fish on a journey to discover how everyday choices impact the health of our environment. Along the way, they'll learn how Earth’s natural resources can be reused and repurposed, then put their creativity to work by designing a recycled treasure of their own.
